Este libro ofrece un análisis integral de la Seguridad y Salud Ocupacional (SSO) en el entorno universitario, un ecosistema complejo donde convergen docencia, investigación y administración. A lo largo de nueve capítulos, aborda la diversidad de riesgos —en laboratorios, talleres, áreas deportivas y oficinas— y la multiplicidad de actores involucrados. Con énfasis en la prevención proactiva y la jerarquía de controles, profundiza en riesgos ergonómicos y psicosociales como el estrés académico, el burnout y el acoso. También desarrolla la gestión integral de emergencias y la implementación de sistemas basados en ISO 45001. Sostiene que la verdadera eficacia reside en una cultura de seguridad sólida, traducida en políticas, recursos y compromiso institucional. A través de casos reales —explosiones, infecciones, lesiones crónicas y crisis de salud mental— demuestra que casi todo incidente es prevenible cuando la SSO se asume como responsabilidad compartida y no como trámite.
