Studies on sustainable development, COVID-19 in Mexico and economic optimization
Keywords:
Sustainable development, COVID-19 in Mexico, Economic optimization.Synopsis
This book is divided into three themes that contribute to the three key words embedded in its title. The first three chapters focus on sustainable development and present contributions that aim to provide a theoretical and analytical reflection on the current economic model and its impact on the ecosystem, well-being, and inequality. The second theme, reflected in the next four chapters, focuses on the socioeconomic impact generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, providing scientific analyses and critiques on the implications of unemployment, inflation, insecurity, and poverty. The last three chapters present some specific cases of economic optimization as proposals for a sustainable economy, considering the inputs already available, without further increasing the management of non-renewable primary resources that contribute to climate change. The contributions presented here primarily focus on the Mexican case.
