Keywords:

The “The role of women in the political, labor and economic spheres, an unbalanced balance” highlights research on the gender inequalities faced by Zacatecan women in Mexico. This book details how gender discrimination persists through patterns of behavior and daily violence, exacerbating political, social, economic and cultural inequalities. It proposes solutions that seek female autonomy in three phases: decision-making, economic and physical autonomy. In the political sphere, it promotes equal participation, reflected in 50% gender quotas and historic presidential elections among women. Economically, recognition of care work is advocated. Physical autonomy encompasses freedom over the body and reproductive rights. The work emphasizes the need to empower women to integrate individual practices that gradually promote changes in norms and laws, thus improving their social status.
