Synopsis

Microbiology and Parasitology subject, taught in the second level of the Nursing career at Instituto Superior Tecnológico ITCA, is essential for the training of future health professionals. Its main objective is to train students to identify symptoms, diagnostic methods, preventive measures and treatment for various infectious diseases such as: bacteria, viruses, mycoses and parasites. In addition, the importance of immunization and disinfection is emphasized as key tools for the control and prevention of diseases. The subject is compound by four units that cover everything from the basic principles of microbiology to diseases caused by different pathogens. This training seeks not only theoretical mastery, but also the ability to manage care and prevent infections in clinical settings, thus promoting health and patients’ well-being.
