Keywords:
Clinical ethics; Social determinants; Health humanization; Interprofessional collaboration; Therapeutic innovation.Synopsis
This collective work addresses contemporary challenges in healthcare systems from an interdisciplinary perspective, integrating clinical, ethical, social, and educational dimensions. Through nine research studies, the book critically analyzes ethical dilemmas in physiotherapy at the end of life, the influence of sociodemographic factors on the progression of dyslipidemia and diabetic retinopathy, and manifestations of obstetric violence from theoretical approaches such as symbolic interactionism and ethnonursing. It also explores barriers in dental education through simulation technologies, limitations in interprofessional collaboration for pediatric oral care, and the perception of humanized care during postpartum. The chapters further examine the clinical management of comorbidities in osteoarticular sporotrichosis, evaluate non-pharmacological alternatives such as cryotherapy in orthopedic surgery, and analyze how socioeconomic inequalities condition the understanding of oral health in families. Overall, the volume emphasizes the need to promote more humane, equitable, collaborative, and evidence-based healthcare systems, prioritizing person-centered care and addressing social determinants of health.
