A Plurality of Voices and Memories: An Approach to the Heritage Diversity of the Veracruz Highlands is a book born from a collective interest in understanding the cultural, historical, and natural richness of the Veracruz Highlands region. In the absence of spaces to reflect on these themes and in the face of hegemonic narratives that homogenize regional identity, this project proposes a critical and plural analysis of heritage, articulated around four axes: archaeological heritage, historical heritage, built heritage, and biocultural heritage. With an interdisciplinary perspective, it invites us to perceive heritage as a living and dynamic fabric, fundamental for reconstructing senses of belonging and strengthening regional identities. From various disciplines, the authors seek to recover memories, practices, and knowledge that reveal the territory's complexity, highlighting the need to preserve heritage as a process that sustains social bonds and ensures cultural continuity.
