Contemporary Challenges. A Multiscale Analysis of Technology, Society, and Territory
Keywords:
Globalization, competitiveness, demography, planetary crisis, artificial intelligenceSynopsis
This book addresses the complexity of the contemporary world, characterized by a multiplicity of constantly changing relationships. Faced with the difficulty of analyzing phenomena in flux, the work offers a set of perspectives that seek to capture snapshots of this dynamic reality. It is structured around four central axes: first, planetary finitude and the immediate global impact of elements such as globalization, capitalism, population, and the environment. Second, temporal acceleration, whereby processes that once took centuries now unfold over decades. Third, the unprecedented magnitude of current challenges, which demand theoretical tools for practical intervention. Finally, the "glocal" approach, which reveals the permanent interaction between the global and the local, demonstrating that no country remains immune to influences ranging from the market to artificial intelligence.
