The book Mental Health in the Digital Age. Social Media, Violence, and Psychosocial Well-Being presents a collection of studies that analyze the main contemporary challenges affecting psychological well-being in educational and community settings. The studies, conducted primarily in the province of Santa Elena (Ecuador), examine phenomena such as social media use, interpersonal comparison, emotional intelligence, violence, attitudes toward psychological therapy, substance use, and mental health in older adults. Using a quantitative approach and descriptive-correlational designs, the research highlights the interaction between technological, social, and emotional factors that influence cognitive development, interpersonal relationships, and quality of life across different stages of the life cycle. The findings underscore the need to strengthen socio-emotional education, promote the responsible use of digital technologies, and consolidate preventive and institutional strategies that foster psychosocial well-being and mental health in contemporary society.
