Synopsis

The book Neurosexuality: From the First Cell to the Last Synapse, presents an exhaustive and rigorously scientific journey through the neurobiological evolution of human sexuality, covering everything from conception to the final moments of life. From the prologue, the work establishes an approach strictly focused on the development of sexual maturation at the neuronal level, deliberately leaving aside sociological discussions regarding multiple contemporary gender identities. Throughout its five chapters, the text unravels how biology and the environment interact to sculpt the human brain. It begins by revealing the processes of embryonic differentiation and the construction of a mosaic brain through early hormonal flows. Subsequently, it examines the critical window of postnatal neuroplasticity during childhood, where the foundations of secure attachment are cemented, and a silent synaptic pruning is executed. The author then analyzes puberty as a stage of profound maturational asynchrony and neural network reconfiguration that prepares the individual for the competitive mating market. In adulthood, the work delves into the complex neurochemistry of the monogamous bond, the development of the caregiving brain, and the growing epidemiological risks of isolation in the digital age. Finally, the book addresses senescence, exposing how the brain reassigns the purpose of physical contact toward homeostasis and survival, culminating with a reflection on transgenerational epigenetic inheritance and the unavoidable thermodynamic shutdown of consciousness.
