This book “Applied Social Sciences and Humanities on Latin America. Volume II” addresses the invisibility and representation of diverse cultures and social realities in Latin American contexts. It analyzes how the Chilean media omit indigenous history, and the need to incorporate the gender perspective in the teaching of history. Bacanora is presented as a cultural symbol, while racialized relations in San Basilio de Palenque are explored as echoes of freedom. Labor issues in the tourism sector in Cancun, the regional history of theater in Aguascalientes and Guanajuato, and the disappearance of people in Mexico from the theory of Johan Galtung are also addressed. The socioeconomic dimension of democracy is contrasted with informal commerce in Monteria and the analysis of digital government after the pandemic in Peru. Finally, it highlights the violation of human rights in Ecuador through intramural extortion.
