Teaching English from Complexity. A Qualitative Study in a Mexican Primary School

This book is born from a troubling question: why do children memorize English for the exam and forget it the very next day? The answer leads to a bold pedagogical bet: to transform the classroom into a research community where language becomes a tool for understanding and transforming reality. Through action research in a primary school in Zacatecas, the author shows how the migration phenomenon—a daily experience for the students—becomes the heart of a project based on problem-based learning. Debates, interviews, digital testimonies, and bilingual essays demonstrate that it is possible to develop critical, creative, and systemic thinking in English from an early age. A book that invites us to teach the language not as an end in itself, but as a means to think and inhabit the world.
