Teaching Research at the Threshold of Silence. Faculty Competencies and Gaps in Scientific Dissemination
Keywords:
research competencies, research skills, epistemic silence, university teaching, research training.Synopsis
This work analyzes the relationship between teachers’ research competencies and students’ research skills in a faculty of education. An intermediate level predominates in both actors, with weaknesses in scientific production and communication. The association is direct and significant, without implying causality. The term “epistemic silence” is used to name the distance between generating knowledge and communicating, validating, and disseminating it. This gap runs through teachers and students and limits institutional scientific visibility. The study concludes that strengthening the teacher-researcher profile, feedback, and dissemination are key to transforming university education.
